The Cairns RSL Sub Branch has an extensive collection of unique Memorabilia, some of which is more than 100 years old. Most of the collection has been donated over a long period of time by members or people from Far North Queensland.
Currently we have a selection of paintings and prints on display in the Kokoda Hall upstairs at the Cairns RSL and is open to the public from 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
Our memorabilia collection has been catalogued and recorded and is in secure storage until our Museum and Interpretive Centre development is complete. This is being tirelessly put together by our volunteer memorabilia committee with the hopes to have works complete by the end of 2016.
The Cairns RSL Sub Branch collects memorabilia items relating to Australian war experiences. Donated items are cared for to the highest standards.
Unfortunately we are unable to accept everything that is offered to us as some areas of our collection are already well developed.
We strongly recommend you talk with your family before offering memorabilia to the Cairns RSL Sub Branch. Their wishes may need to be considered before you proceed.
A donation is finalised by the donor signing a Transfer of Ownership Agreement. This is a legal document that transfers ownership of the item to the Memorial. Once a donation is finalised, it cannot be returned.
